“T3 is honored to receive this prestigious award from ARTBA. The award embodies the values that T3 strives to achieve in our vision and mission. Our founder, Pat Timbrook, who passed away recently, was actively discouraged from pursuing a career in engineering because she was a woman. Despite that negativity, she was able to persevere and had a long, successful career not only as an engineer but also as an entrepreneur. I am very proud to accept this award in her memory as a testament to her dedication to her own success but also in encouraging and assisting many women in their careers throughout the decades. T3 prides itself on being a firm that values all people and develops women to succeed in the transportation industry,” says president and owner, Amy Morris.

T3 celebrated its 15-year anniversary in 2021 and has always been 100 percent woman-owned. We are a certified DBE/SWaM firm with an all-female executive team. In an industry where 20 percent of engineers are women, T3 has always averaged 40 percent or more. One of the firm’s key goals is to empower female staff by encouraging and supporting them to take on leadership roles within the company and within industry organizations. We have also crafted policies and programs specifically designed to enhance the career growth of all employees in a fair and equitable manner.

In 2016, Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) selected T3 as the Washington DC Chapter Employer of the year. This award honored T3 as an organization that recruits, retains, and advances women in the transportation industry. In addition, T3 was also recently honored as the small firm of the year by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Metropolitan Washington Chapter in 2021, based on their contribution and leadership within the organization.

T3 women have contributed their time and talents to industry associations by serving on the Board of Directors and in Chair/Vice Chair positions for a variety of organizations, including the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance (VTCA), the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE), the Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS), the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA), the Intelligent Transportation Society of Maryland (ITSMD), the Virginia Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (VASITE), as well as local and community groups. As such, part of T3’s mission will continue to be to promote the success of women in the fields of science, engineering, and technology.
