Bookkeeper

Job Summary

If you enjoy working with numbers and finances, we have a great opportunity for you to use your skills and to make a difference for us and our clients as a bookkeeper. You will have the chance to work with a wide variety of financial documents as you verify and track financial transactions and create detailed reports.

Job Responsibilities

  • Purchase equipment and supplies, monitor office supplies and reorder as necessary, tag and monitor fixed assets

  • Track, process and document various financial transactions for multiple accounts on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

  • Pay supplier invoices in timely manner

  • Make bank deposits

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy

  • Perform payroll duties in a timely manner every pay cycle, including data input, error checking and payment processing through specific software.

  • Provide administrative and clerical support such as record keeping and budgeting on an as-needed basis.

  • Complete regular accounts receivable and accounts payable duties, such as preparing financial reports, researching and reconciling discrepancies, and processing transactions.

  • Assemble information for external auditors

  • Maintain chart of accounts

  • Maintain budget, calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management

  • Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements

  • Ensure that receivables are collected promptly

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • Degree in accounting or equivalent work experience

  • Expert computer skills including Microsoft applications and at least one accounting program

  • Proficiency in mathematics, accounting practices and bookkeeping

  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills

Preferred

  • Proven experience using multiple types of accounting software

  • Prior experience in a similar work environment

Transportation Engineering Technician (Full-Time)

We are looking for a motivated, self-starter who loves contributing to real world solutions for traffic issues facing our region, while working shoulder-to-shoulder with a group of young, dynamic engineering professionals in a casual working environment. Position Description

This position is intended for candidates, who under supervision, support engineers in the planning, design and construction of transportation projects, and perform a wide variety of routine to moderately difficult field and office sub-professional engineering tasks.

Typical Duties

  • Lead and/or perform data collection including traffic counts and traffic studies

  • Lead and/or perform field surveys, photographing, recording data and making diagrams of infrastructure and roadways

  • Record information gathered in surveys or studies into various computer programs

  • Set up, install, repair and maintain a variety of engineering field equipment

  • Assist engineers in the preparation of detailed drawings, plans and designs

  • Assist engineers in cost estimates for design

  • Perform routine engineering calculations

 Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or CADD from an accredited university

Transportation Engineer - Entry Level

Position Description

This entry level position involves the application of engineering skills and fundamentals to analyze traffic and design roadway and traffic improvements to help people get where they want to go faster and more safely.

Typical Duties

The successful candidate does not require previous experience but should display natural curiosity and be eager to solve problems. He or she will be continuously learning and acquiring new skills, while supporting project teams in collaborative small group settings.

Typical project assignments include:

  • Plan, or perform routine field surveys photographing, recording data and making diagrams of infrastructure and roadways

  • Perform calculations using engineering formulas and skills for design plans and studies

  • Use specialized computer software to analyze and model data

  • Research design options and document findings

  • Create drawings and designs in accordance with production and design standards

  • Assist in writing reports for engineering studies

  • Use engineering drawing and analysis software

  • Support the preparation of design computations and quantity estimates

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Bachelors of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university

  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint

  • EIT/FE preferred

  • Proficiency in AutoCad or MicroStation a plus

Transportation Engineer II

T3 Design Corporation has an immediate opening for a highly talented Civil/Transportation Engineer with a minimum of four years of experience.

Position Description

Under supervision, provide engineering support in the planning, development and design of transportation projects.

Typical project assignments include:

  • Traffic signal design

  • Signing and marking

  • Maintenance of Traffic plans / TMP / TCP

  • Quantity summaries and construction cost estimates

  • Signal timing optimization

  • Safety assessments/evaluations/studies

  • Traffic impact and corridor studies

  • ITS

  • Perform fieldwork as necessary

  • Attend meetings with clients.

 Experience and Skills Required

  • VDOT/MDSHA/DDOT transportation and traffic engineering design practices and standards

  • Proficiency with MicroStation (with Open Roads experience or training desired)

  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills

Knowledge and Certifications Required

  • Bachelors of Engineering Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering from an accredited university

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
